The Ash Tree Inn, Brown bread Street set in the heart of the Sussex country side is difficult to find but a treat when is. A lovely old 17th century Inn set in the tiny parish of Ashburnham. A free house offering hospitality and good home cooked food.

Recently re-furbished its warm and cosy (three open fires) and a lovely place to dine.

Owned by the Ashburnham Estate the Ash Tree is one of the few remaining real village pubs. Despite the refurbishment it still retains its country pub atmosphere and is much the centre of the village. Apart from the restaurant there is a public bar where everyone is welcome. The pub hosts the village sports teams, cricket and tug of war. Women’s Institute, Pantomime society, Shoot breakfasts, Hunt meets, all happens at the Ash Tree.

Quiz nights are held on the first Tuesday of every month.

The food is locally sourced home cooked and served with a smile. The Ash tree is famous for its home-made Steak and kidney pudding and Sunday roasts are a speciality of the house. Locally produced sirloin of beef cooked fresh with a crisp roast potatoes and vegetables.

Malcolm and Jenny Baker welcome you to their pub. They are sure you will find your visit an enjoyable one.
